Community Leadership

I am actively engaged in student leadership and community building in the workplace. I am especially interested in career preparation for students for which I have served on student leadership to organize events between current graduate students and alumni, hosted a workshop for graduate students, "Beyond the TA: Planning and marketing your teaching experiences for the job market", a monthly writing group focused on job application and preparation materials, and organized mentoring lunches between faculty and graduate students.

I am committed to promoting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the geosciences and academia. I have worked collaboratively to organize pride events for LGBTQ+ Pride in June 2020, 2021, and 2022 and distributed information about Disability Pride in July 2020 and 2022. I am a strong advocate for improving campus accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities, including presenting community recommendations to LDEO leadership and hosting a workshop "Accessible and Inclusive Teaching through Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in the Classroom, Lab, and Field".
